Members endorse re-elected Secretary & Assistant Secretary Greg Simcoe & David Hanna

 The election results were announced on Tuesday the 17th with 95% of the membership endorsing State Secretary Greg Simcoe and Assistant Secretary David Hanna to be re-elected in their positions here at the BLF. Thank you to all the members who endorsed and for having the confidence in our team, we look forward to once again representing this great union and the workers on the jobs.

Concrete Industry Meeting

 All concreters are required to attend an Industry Meeting at Souths Davis Park, Musgrave Rd on 20th November at 3.30pm to have there say on helping structure a concreters Industry rate of pay and conditions that will provide a standard in the Industry. The outcome will consist of fair rates of pay whether you’re on fulltime, casual, all in rate, ABN, EBA or non EBA and produce a rate of pay that no concreter should work for less than.

Noel Washington Update 1

 Recently Thousands of unionists rallied against the Australian Building Construction Commission (ABCC) due to ‘unfair’ charges laid against CFMEU official Noel Washington. For those of you who haven’t heard the full story, Noel Washington is being charged with refusing to attend a compulsory interview with the ABCC to answer any questions about an off site union meeting at a Bovis Lend Lease job in 2007.
