New web master and journal editor

Hi members my name is Kristian Whitehead, I have recently taken the position as journalist for the BLF.

Prior to working at the BLF I have been completing my degree of communications at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, majoring in both Journalism and Digital video.

I have recently travelled across England and Europe where I partook in an exchange programme through University and completed a six month exchange. After which I returned to Australia looking for experience in the field of journalism.

When I was offered the journalist position at the BLF I was honoured to be working with such dedicated and enthusiastic people. It’s great to be apart of a collective team who’s objective is to help the Australian builders labourers work force.

My job now as journalist to the BLF is to inform the Australian builders labourers and other trade unionists about issues that concern them. That being so, it’s your story that matters most to us. Any story that’s happened to you or someone you know on work sites or as apart of our union we want to know. I am available daily on 0411865425.

My future plans as a journo for the BLF is to keep our members and other trade unionists informed about what is happing in our own backyard. Our new web site can be found at www.blfq.org and is a great resource for what we do here at the BLF, it offers the latest in union news, allows our organisers to communicate through their personal blogs and much more.

I would personally like to thank the BLF for giving me the opportunity to work with them in helping builders labourers achieve their rights and entitlements on work sites. To our BLF members I am looking forward to writing and listening to your stories, thank you.
